Disappointing Result in Romania

Sunday afternoon harness racing driver Paul Galea was in action at the racetrack of Mangalia in Romania in a race which was part of the Mediterranean and Black Sea Championship. Mario Baldacchino, who was accompanying Galea on behalf of the Malta Racing Club, said that the organisation left much to be desired and in fact the race was delayed and we also had to wait several hours to receive a copy of the official result.

Eventually it was Paul Galea who took a flying start to take the lead with horse number 5 Cono San but unfortunately midway through the race the horse galopped resulting in a disqualification. The winner was Serbian driver Milan Kovacevic followed by Tanase Gheorge from Romania and Walter d’Ambrogio from Italy.

This means that France and Italy are now tied in first place with 24 points, followed closely by Romania with 23 points. Malta has 17 points and Serbia 13.
