On Sunday 23rd April we will have the first edition of the Bavaria Gold Championship Final in which twelve horses will be trying to take the honour which is being raced over the 2640m distance.

 

In the past GSD Marketing Ltd have sponsored horse racing championships through other brands that they represent but this is the first time that Bavaria beer is being associated with local horse racing. When MRTL took over the Malta Equidrome’s administration it’s first objective was to try and enhance as much as possible the racing calendar with championships and it is with pleasure that GSD Marketing Ltd are back on board with the Bavaria brand sponsoring one of our top categories.

 

GSD stated that it was their ongoing commitment to support Maltese traditions and culture and with their first manufacturing plant in Qormi and their present one in Marsa, two localities with a strong and long connection to horse racing it was only natural that this partnership materialises.

 

Sunday’s final will surely be an elite event judging by the high levels reached during the first two stages of the competition and these draws were eagerly awaited as sometimes starting numbers make all the difference.

 

A total of €3200 in prize money will be awarded to the first four finishers together with trophies as well as a commemorative horse blanket to the winner,
