Charles Camilleri Victorious in Moscow

Sunday afternoon the Central Moscow Hippodrome in Russia hosted the 2nd leg of the Mediterranean Horse Racing Union Championship with six drivers coming from Malta, Russia, Serbia, France, Italy and Algeria.

Having drawn number 6 RAP, Camilleri was told that he was a good horse but number was tricky. This though did not deter our driver as he showed excellent driving skills to put the horse at the front and did not relinquish the lead until passing the finishing post.

The second heat was driven two hours later with the drivers exchanging the same horses according to their starting positions meaning that having driven number 6 Camilleri was assigned number 1 Caspian Sin. In this race unfortunately Charles could only terminate in 5th place same position as the Italian Francesco La Rosa who incidentally drove the winning horse of this heat.  This meant that as had happened during the first leg in Malta, Italy and Malta tied jointly in first place.  However, having registered the best timing in his victory, Charles Camilleri was declared the overall winning driver.
