Mediterranean Horse Racing Union Championship


After an absence of some years, Malta will once again be participating in the Mediterranean Horse Racing Union Championship with the traditional first leg for harness racing being raced in Malta on the 31st of March.







Five countries will be participating including Malta in two races on Thursday with each driver being awarded points according to their finishing order and then an average is worked based on these two races.







Malta will be represented by Julian Farrugia whilst the other drivers are Matteo di Meo from Italy, Jean Paul Fasquelle from France, Denis Prisekar from Russia and Milos Kovacevic from Serbia.







The two races are for the Bronze Category starting at 3:10 and Silver Category starting at 4:00. The participating drivers will be presented to the public after the 3rd race at 2:30.

Points will be awarded as follows - 1st - 12, 2nd - 9, 3rd - 7, 4th - 5 and 5th - 3. The total for each driver from two races is added together and then divided by 2 to find out the winning driver. The two drivers which are not part of the competition will not be included for this point system.
