The first edition of the Equestrian Festival will be held this Sunday at the Malta Racing Club in Marsa. Amongst the various attractions on the day, the famous French trotter, Lipouz Lesmelchen, will be making its debut at the Malta Race Course.

Lipouz Lesmelchen foaled by Podosis u Bruded Lesmelchen was born on the 23rd of April 1999. During its career in France and around some of the major courses in Europe, has registered 19 wins out of a total of 123 races, with 22 places, totalling winnings of €541,300.

Lipouz Lesmelchen is renowned in France for the number of important and famous race winnings. In October 2009, it registered one of the most famous wins in career, beating stiff opposition like the Prix D’Amerique winner Oyannax, Malakite, Paola de Lou, Prince de Montford, and others in the Prix de Reynolds. The time registered on the day was an impressive 1’12’9/km over a distance of 2,200m. A few months before, on 19 August 2009, at the Prix du Chateau du Loire Lipouz Lesmelchen clocked its best timing ever of 1'11'5/km over a distance of 2100m at Vincennes racecourse in Paris.

Lipouz Lesmelchen will be participating in the Premier Final, scheduled at 5.15pm.
